Guiding Stars is an objective food rating system that rates food based on nutrient density using a scientific algorithm. Rated foods are marked with easy-to-follow tags indicating 0, 1, 2, or 3 stars. The more nutritional value a food has, the more Guiding Stars it receives. If a food doesn’t receive a star – it means it doesn’t meet our rigorous criteria.

One Guiding Star indicates good nutritional value
Two Guiding Stars indicate better nutritional value
Three Guiding Stars indicate the best nutritional value
As you go through each aisle of the store or navigate through your cafeteria at lunchtime, the Guiding Stars system can help you identify more nutritious choices. Guiding Stars is not intended to tell you what to buy, but rather point you toward foods that have more vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, whole grains –and less fats, cholesterol, sugar and sodium.

Guiding Stars is objective, based on consumer research, and not influenced by price, brand or manufacturer trade groups. And with over 60,000 rated foods, making nutritious choices for you and your family is now simple… and even fun.

For the last three months we have had a group of individuals entering our property one individual will cover the satellite receiver with tinfoil. This is done to circumvent credit/gift card approvals. We have a phone line backup but it will not always work with gift cards. The card will be approved by the system but the charge will not be deducted from the gift card nor be credited to your account. The group will come in one by one or in pairs and attempt to purchase large quantities of Newport Cigarettes and will present several gift cards and credit cards until the system approves one of them. One of the individuals is a truck driver from a national trucking company. We have identified 6 subjects and they are operating along interstate 55 in Illinois and in St. Louis.

The midwest has all of those markets, it just depends on where you locate your store.

Casey's General Store based out of DesMoines Iowa has a large number of stores (1000+) but they are not really a local or family minded store. They are more of a "do it the corporate way" store with little thought of tayloring there store to the local (smaller) markets.

Donna.. I was the "Mickey Mouse" lady who brought some toys and the baby doll to the girls. My heart simply wentout to them and to Jennifer's memory, and the tragedy you all had suffered. I would like to offer, if its not too late, my time and help in getting some state legislation over to protect these kids stuck in these late hour jobs..I'm damn good at speech making, and have been told I can "cut to the heartstrings" very quickly when such emotional issues are involved.
Though I WISH to Heaven I had seen your post here a year ago(I just ran across it tonight), I would be honored to volunteer my services to aid in doing some real GOOD for the innocents still out there in possible harm's way during the night. They NEED this protection, and what happened to your daughter should NEVER happen again! Im ready, if you need a very stubborn "right hand" to do some work towards this effort.
GOD BLESS YOU and her children..So many people are still out here on your side!

Is contactless payment reducing the amount of cash your comnpany deposits? The Smart Card Alliance says the industry will have 80 millon cards issued by the end of 2009 & up to 120,000 merchant locations. My perspective has to do with transaction expense by method of payment. It would seem that if cash volumes are in fact decreasing, then taking steps to lower the cost of having cash in the business would offset electronic payment transaction fees.

Hello we recently started to carry a new product called Police Fuel www.POLICEFUEL.com and what we have found is that it brings the cops to the stores. Police Fuel, energy drink is the first ever law enforcement specific energy drink.

We all know C-stores are unique in that they are large cash based businesses and usually open 24-hours and are conveniently located for quick in and out shopping, and that makes it very convenient for customers. Unfortunately, it can be an attractive target for robbers and other criminal activities. I read a study that said convenience store robbers used a selection process before choosing targets and that if they see cops often in a store they will most likely not try to rob it. So if you carry Police Fuel you could be deterring criminals by making your c-store less attractive to them.

We have stores that are that carry the Police Fuel Energy Drinks and they are advertising to the local cops that they now carry the drink and guess what our clients stores are being visited by more cops, and that equals security.

“POLICE FUEL ” is a great crime deterrent, No other energy drink in the market can make the claim that it can also be a crime deterrent.

If you are looking to find ways to get more police officers to your store especially on the midnight shift tell them you carry Police Fuel its an effective robbery and crime prevention program.

The company just came out with its own vending machines and they are great, just started to install them in Police department, and in other stores and shops in the south east, can't keep them full long enough, the cops love the product.

When included, the OurEnergy Carbon Offset option increases the revenue stream from the sale of fuel. So while offering a “green” solution, the fuel operator is able to increase their revenue stream while projecting a positive image. Our analysis shows that there are 4 additional items that are addressed with inclusion of carbon offsets in the fuel price at the pump:

1) Impulse - The choice is there in front of the consumer to offset their behavior – right now.

2) Point of Sale - The cost is built into the price at specific pumps or available as an option at all pumps (similar to the car wash or receipt options at gas stations)
3) Tied to Emissions - The point of sale is tied to the activity which leads to the release of greenhouse gases (CO2), direct linkage to behavior
4) Marketing Leverage – Possibly the most important factor besides the added revenue stream - The inclusion of the offset enables conversation, ability to promote the pump as "Green" and leverages the image of the offering fuel facility, enhancing public perception and business marketing opportunities.

OurEnergy Carbon program benefits:

1.no inventory investment – only pay for what you sell

2.double-digit margins, and earned interest on income before purchase

3.increase pumps point-of-sale revenue from pump only customers

4.portray positive image while increasing profits

when a store chooses to be open 24 hrs{most robberies, if not all of them take place at this time, 12mn til 6am} WHY is not a mandatory law and decision that these stores have bullet proof glass around the register area to protect these innocent people who choose and HAVE to work these crazy hours. WHO CAN I GET STARTED WITH TO HELP me with this? I lost my only child DECEMBER the 16-07 to a CRAZED ROBBER WHO took 100.00 then shot her 3 times, she was 28 and she left behind 3 girls, ages 7 2 and 3 months. HER NAME IS JENNIFER VINCEK> LOOK UP HER TRAGIC STORY and please tell me where to star with this. Had she been behind a glass, the animal could not have killed her and the customer who was just there for his morning coffee. NOT TO MENTION BETTER RESTITUTION FOR FAMILIES OF THIS KIND OF HORRIFC CRIME!!!
